Come with me, friend,
as I climb down into a word.
The thrill of one syllable
charged with unflagging meaning.
Down we must plunge, into
something greater than we
could ever dare to imagine.
Depths unto depths
— unsearchable,
a mere vessel spilling over
with lightyears of love.
You will find that its inside
is bigger than its outside.
Yet, man has trampled over
such thoughts —
overlooked, mistaken,
mocked as unneeded.
Cheapened by spectators,
hidden from the lofty.
But to all who are burdened
by their inexhaustible need,
there are worlds found
within these five letters,
a haven for the weary,
a cure for every ailment.
This is the country we all long for,
Heaven’s own true face —
poured out through blood and tears,
we just happen to spell it grace.
